SCOPE OF THE SYMPOSIUM

Over the past decade, the development of digital radiology has made tremendous progress. Digital radiography is no longer restricted to the laboratory; various systems for the acquisition and manipulation of digital images are available for routine use in dental radiography. Programs to improve the diagnostic yield of digital imaging become more sophisticated and will be of great help in general and specialized dental diagnosis

Topics covered in this meeting were:

  • implementation of digital radiology in clinical practice;
  • computer aided image interpretation;
  • image reconstruction and 3D representation;
  • image archiving and image transmission;
  • diagnostic quality of digital systems;
  • impact of digital radiology on clinical dentistry;
  • digital panoramic radiology

The 5th Symposium on Digital Imaging in Dental Radiology was an excellent opportunity to obtain a comprehensive overview of the state-of-the-art in this field. An abstract of some of the keynotes is here available.

The 5th Symposium on Digital Imaging in Dental Radiology is supported by the IADMFR, IADR/DSG, ACTA and the AAOMFR.
